A native of South Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Dan graduated from the U.S. Naval Academy in 1980 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering. Following graduation, he served 28 years as an officer in the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps, rising to the rank of Captain.
Upon retirement from the Navy in December 2008, Dan joined the Auburn University staff as the Assistant Vice President for Facilities. In this capacity, he is responsible for the planning, design and construction, facilities maintenance, utilities and building service operations that support the University.
Dan has two Masters degrees: one in Civil Engineering (Construction Management) from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and a second one in Management Information Systems from George Washington University. He also completed the Advanced Management Program at the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Dan is a registered professional engineer in the state of Maine.
